Greenhouse Gas Reduction
As a service company, our primary carbon production is emissions associated with commuting and work-related travel. With inspiration from several existing client carbon offset programs we developed a Carbon Offset Program to measure our organization's direct impact on global warming and to mitigate these emissions by purchasing blocks of renewable energy (generated from wind and salmon-friendly dams) thru The Bonneville Environmental Foundation.

We recognize that some travel-related emissions are unavoidable, due to the nature of our business. Occasional trips to see clients, attend conferences, or perform site visits on companies we invest in are important. We have increased teleconferencing and shifted travel to modes with less environmental impact whenever possible. We mitigate the carbon emissions associated with the travel that cannot be avoided.

Transportation Benefits Program
As a part of our company's benefits package, we provide incentives to minimize single occupancy vehicle travel by reimbursing the cost of public transportation for employees. We also make contributions toward bicycle maintenance for any employee who commutes by bike and encourage carpooling when possible. A Hybrid purchasing incentive program is also in place.

Resource Use and Avoidance
Resource use and purchasing is our other area of opportunity for reducing environmental impact. Whenever possible we support vendors who meet stringent environmental standards such as locally based Living Tree Paper Co. who supplies all of our 100% tree free paper. We recycle all of the paper created in our offices, print most documents two-sided and have accomplished with our clients and Charles Schwab and Co. the ability to deliver the majority of client documents electronically.
